My skin has been a mess throughout the years. It used to be super dry then it got overly oily and I’ve also suffered from minor acne and hormonal breakouts. I’m almost in my mid twenties (excuse me while I curl up in a corner and cry) and my skin still isn’t perfect but it’s improving. My skin is quite dry, especially around my eyebrows but with an oilier t-zone. I do still suffer from breakout, especially hormonal ones and I also have a lot of red marks from earlier breakouts that take a long time to heal. I’ve got a different routine depending on if it’s in the morning or in the evening so prepare for a long post and if you make it through the entire post, well done!
I have two cleansers Anthony Glycolic Facial Cleanser and REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser. They are two fabulous non-foaming cleansers, which is what I prefer. The Clay Cleanser is brilliant if I’ve got a few breakouts and if I’m feeling particularly oily and the Glycolic Cleanser is amazing those mornings when you need a bit of a glow.
After I’ve cleansed my face I use an exfoliating toner. At the moment I’m using the Pixi Glow Tonic. Then I use Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence, yes it sounds disgusting but it keeps my skin moisturized and it makes my skin look more even. Then I moisturize with my new favourite moisturizer; A-creme and then I’m done!
Since June I’ve been using cleansing balms at night to take off my makeup and to cleanse my skin and now I can’t think of using anything else. I’m using either Emma Hardie’s Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm or the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (I will do a review of them both soon). I just massage the balm all over my face and neck and then take it off with a damp flannel, super quick and easy. Then I use my Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner which lightly exfoliates and moisturizes. After toning I apply some Hydraluron which locks in all of the moisture in my skin and then I just top it with some A-creme again.
And on top of that
About once a week I will use my REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. It’s amazing and it leaves my skin feeling super smooth and it also gives my skin some extra glow, like I’ve slept for years. If I’m feeling extra dry or just want to pamper myself a bit extra I sometimes massage some Rosehip Oil from Fushi onto my face before I go to bed. It hydrates my skin but it also helps to heal those red marks that spots sometimes leave on my face. I also take some Omega 3 and Zinc supplements which has really improved my skin and helps to keep it balanced.
